1. Scope and governing text
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the nivotravel.com website, operated under the Nivo Travel Türkiye brand by Karakaya Group Turizm Seyahat Taşımacılık Limited Şirketi (Kenan Karakaya Turizm Seyahat Acentası, Group A Travel Agency Operating Licence No. 8719). It supplements our Personal Data Protection Notice prepared under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).
This policy is published in Turkish, English, Arabic and Persian. In case of any difference or conflict between the language versions, the Turkish text prevails.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website you visit saves in your browser. By duration they are session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies; by purpose they are strictly necessary, functional, analytics or advertising cookies.
Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technology that lets a website keep information only in the browser on your device. Unlike cookies, this information is not sent to the server automatically with each visit.
3. The only cookie we use
Our website uses only one strictly necessary first-party cookie:
- Name: PHP session cookie (default name PHPSESSID).
- Purpose: remembering your chosen language and currency between pages, keeping the steps of a booking request together and form security.
- Duration: for the session only; it expires when you close your browser.
- Attributes: readable only by the server (HttpOnly), SameSite=Lax; on secure connections sent only over HTTPS (Secure).
This cookie contains only a random session identifier; it is not used to track you across websites or for advertising. Because it is strictly necessary for the website to work as you request, it does not depend on your explicit consent and relies on Articles 5/2-c and 5/2-f of the KVKK.
4. Information stored in your browser
The following information is not stored as cookies but in your browser's local storage (localStorage), only on your device:
- art_wish: the codes of the tours and hotels you add to your wishlist.
- art_recent: the codes of up to 8 tours or hotels you viewed most recently.
- art_cookie: a note that you have closed the cookie notice.
These entries contain no personal details such as your name or e-mail address and remain in your browser until you delete them. When you open the wishlist page, the tour and hotel codes are sent to our server solely to display the list.
5. Advertising and analytics cookies
Our website currently uses no cookies or similar technologies for advertising, targeting, social media tracking or analytics (visitor statistics).
If we decide to use such cookies in the future, this policy will be updated before their use begins, and where the law requires it they will be activated only after your explicit consent has been obtained.
6. Third-party content and links
Some of our pages include content or services provided by third parties:
- The map on the contact page is embedded from Google Maps; when the map loads, Google may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy policy.
- Fonts, icons, some code libraries and images are loaded from Google Fonts, cdnjs, jsDelivr and Unsplash servers; in doing so, your IP address is technically transmitted to the provider concerned.
- When you click external links such as WhatsApp or Google Maps, the cookie and privacy policies of that website apply.
We have no control over third-party cookies; we recommend that you review the policies of the providers concerned.
7. Managing and deleting cookies
You can view, delete or block cookies and local storage data in your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data / Site settings.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Safari > Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data; on iPhone and iPad, Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Privacy, search and services > Clear browsing data.
Menu names may vary by browser version. Clearing site data also deletes local storage entries, including your wishlist. If you block the strictly necessary session cookie, your language and currency preferences may not be remembered and the booking request form may not work properly.
8. Changes and contact
We update this policy whenever the technologies used on our website change; the current version takes effect as soon as it is published on this page. Your rights regarding your personal data and how to exercise them are explained in our Personal Data Protection Notice.
