Overview

The first Ottoman capital and Türkiye's longest cable car in one day: the Grand Mosque, Green Tomb, Silk Market, original Iskender kebab and the summit of Uludag.

Pick-up is at 07:30 and you have breakfast on the Eskihisar–Topcular ferry while crossing the Gulf of Izmit, arriving in Bursa at 10:00. First stop is the Grand Mosque of 1399: with its twenty domes, the fountain in the inner courtyard and one of the world's largest collections of calligraphy, it is the Ottoman mosque that impresses our Gulf guests most. Then come the turquoise tiles of the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, the tombs of Osman Gazi, founder of the Ottoman state, and his son Orhan Gazi, and the city view from Tophane.

Lunch is at the historic Iskender restaurant run by the same family since 1867, and it is included. Then Koza Han: tea in the courtyard of the 15th-century silk caravanserai, shopping for silk scarves, towels and Bursa knives in its shops, and an hour of free time in the covered bazaar. Bursa is calmer than Istanbul and bargaining is more relaxed.

At 15:00 you board the cable car at Teferruc: the 8.2 km line climbs to Sarialan and a second stage continues to the hotel zone at 1,800 metres. In summer there are pine-forest walks; in winter (December–April) snow, sledging and skiing for those who wish. You descend at 17:30, return by ferry and reach your hotel at about 20:30. The group tour is 85 USD per person; for families of up to six, a private vehicle and guide cost 300 USD.
