A sea-and-culture package that joins the history of Istanbul with the white-washed Aegean town of Bodrum in one week: four nights in Istanbul and three in Bodrum. In Istanbul the Bosphorus and the Old City are guided; on day five a one-hour flight brings you to the Aegean coast.
In Bodrum you stay half board, spend one day with the Crusader castle, the windmills and the fishing village of Gümüşlük, and the other on a boat trip around the bays or simply on the hotel beach.
A balanced programme for couples and families who want to unwind by the sea after busy days in Istanbul; domestic flights and all transfers are included.
When your flight lands at Istanbul Airport (IST), our representative meets you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name and escorts you with your luggage to your private air-conditioned vehicle. After a transfer of about 45 min you check in to your hotel and receive your Turkish SIM card and the 24/7 WhatsApp support number.
The first evening is free so you can rest after your journey. Your guide shares recommendations for halal restaurants within walking distance and an easy evening stroll around Sultanahmet or Taksim. The next day's pickup time is confirmed via WhatsApp.
Pickup at 09:00 and a short drive to Eminönü, where you first explore the Spice Bazaar with its stalls of spices, Turkish delight and nuts. A 1.5-hour cruise then takes you past Dolmabahçe Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, the Bosphorus Bridge, Rumeli Fortress and the wooden waterfront mansions. The afternoon ends with the panoramic view from Çamlıca Hill and Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian side; feeding the seagulls from the boat is a favourite with children.
Depart at 08:30 with your guide for Sultanahmet: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Basilica Cistern. After lunch at a local restaurant you visit Topkapı Palace including the Harem and the Sacred Relics rooms. The day ends with free time among the 4,000 shops of the Grand Bazaar; walking distances are short and stroller-friendly.
No fixed programme today – after breakfast the day is yours. Suggestions: shopping at İstinye Park or Zorlu Center, a walk from Galata Tower along İstiklal Street, a scrub and foam massage in a historic hammam (USD 60) or the evening Bosphorus dinner cruise with show (USD 65). Families can add Vialand theme park (USD 45) or Istanbul Aquarium; a private driver for the whole day is available at USD 150.
After breakfast you are collected from your hotel and driven to Istanbul Airport (IST) (ticket and 20 kg baggage included). A domestic flight of about 1 hours 10 min brings you to Bodrum, where our local team meets you and transfers you to your hotel in around 45 min. The afternoon is for the hotel beach; dinner at the hotel (half board), then an evening walk along the Bodrum marina.
Start at 09:30 at Bodrum Castle, built by the Crusader knights, and its Museum of Underwater Archaeology; then the remains of the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders, and the ancient theatre. After the peninsula view from the windmills, a seaside fish lunch in Gümüşlük. Shopping in the Bodrum bazaar on the way back; at the hotel by 17:00.
Spend the day on the hotel beach or choose an optional activity: a wooden gulet trip to Karaada, Aquarium Bay and Rabbit Cape with lunch (USD 55), a jeep safari (USD 50) or a beach club in Türkbükü. Dinner at the hotel; a sunset walk at the marina is recommended.
After breakfast you check out; if your flight is later in the day your luggage is stored at reception. The connecting flight from Bodrum to Istanbul is included. Your private vehicle is waiting at the hotel 3 hours before departure and reaches Bodrum Milas Airport (BJV) in about 45 min. Balloon flights cancelled due to weather are refunded in full.
