Overview

Istanbul food and market tour: spice and Turkish delight tasting at the Spice Bazaar, Turkish coffee in a historic han, simit and borek, then the Grand Bazaar.

This half-day walk is the tastiest way to discover Istanbul between its two great markets. You meet your guide at 10:00 at the main gate of the Spice Bazaar in Eminonu, then wander among stalls of spices, dried fruit, nuts and Turkish delight, tasting as you go while your guide tells the story behind each flavour.

From there narrow streets lead uphill to the historic hans, where you stop for a Turkish coffee, and on to the street sellers of simit and borek. The tour ends at the Grand Bazaar with free time for shopping. All tastings are halal; lunch is not included, and your guide can suggest restaurants nearby. Please let us know about allergies in advance.
