An Aegean–Mediterranean holiday that joins the history of Istanbul with the turquoise bays of Marmaris: four nights in Istanbul and three in Marmaris. After the guided tours in Istanbul you fly to Dalaman and descend through pine forests to the bay.
The heart of the Marmaris stay is the boat day: a wooden boat takes you to Paradise Island and the Phosphorus Cave, with swimming stops in the bays and a grilled lunch on board. The other day is for the hotel beach or a trip to the turtle beach of Dalyan.
With half-board hotels, safe bays for children and a lively bazaar, it is an ideal programme for families who put the beach holiday first.
When your flight lands at Istanbul Airport (IST), our representative meets you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name and escorts you with your luggage to your private air-conditioned vehicle. After a transfer of about 45 min you check in to your hotel and receive your Turkish SIM card and the 24/7 WhatsApp support number.
The first evening is free so you can rest after your journey. Your guide shares recommendations for halal restaurants within walking distance and an easy evening stroll around Sultanahmet or Taksim. The next day's pickup time is confirmed via WhatsApp.
Pickup at 09:00 and a short drive to Eminönü, where you first explore the Spice Bazaar with its stalls of spices, Turkish delight and nuts. A 1.5-hour cruise then takes you past Dolmabahçe Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, the Bosphorus Bridge, Rumeli Fortress and the wooden waterfront mansions. The afternoon ends with the panoramic view from Çamlıca Hill and Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian side; feeding the seagulls from the boat is a favourite with children.
Depart at 08:30 with your guide for Sultanahmet: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Basilica Cistern. After lunch at a local restaurant you visit Topkapı Palace including the Harem and the Sacred Relics rooms. The day ends with free time among the 4,000 shops of the Grand Bazaar; walking distances are short and stroller-friendly.
No fixed programme today – after breakfast the day is yours. Suggestions: shopping at İstinye Park or Zorlu Center, a walk from Galata Tower along İstiklal Street, a scrub and foam massage in a historic hammam (USD 60) or the evening Bosphorus dinner cruise with show (USD 65). Families can add Vialand theme park (USD 45) or Istanbul Aquarium; a private driver for the whole day is available at USD 150.
After breakfast you are collected from your hotel and driven to Istanbul Airport (IST) (ticket and 20 kg baggage included). A domestic flight of about 1 hours 15 min brings you to Marmaris, where our local team meets you and transfers you to your hotel in around 1,5 hours. Landing in Dalaman and a 1.5-hour drive through pine forests to Marmaris; dinner at the hotel (half board) and a stroll along the marina.
Depart the marina at 10:00 on a wooden boat with swimming stops at Paradise Island, the Phosphorus Cave and the bays of Kumlubük and Turunç. Grilled lunch on board; life jackets and a shaded area are available for children. Back at the marina at 17:00, dinner at the hotel.
A day on the hotel beach. Alternatively join the full-day Dalyan tour: river boat, rock tombs, İztuzu turtle beach and mud baths (USD 55, lunch included). In the evening shopping and ice cream in the Marmaris bazaar; dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast you check out; if your flight is later in the day your luggage is stored at reception. The connecting flight from Dalaman to Istanbul is included. Your private vehicle is waiting at the hotel 3 hours before departure and reaches Dalaman Airport (DLM) in about 1,5 hours. Cancellations up to 15 days before arrival receive a full refund. Cancellations 7–14 days before arrival are charged 50% of the package price; cancellations under 7 days and no-shows are charged 100%. During Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and New Year periods hotels and domestic tickets are non-refundable and special terms are stated at the time of booking. Balloon flights cancelled due to weather are refunded in full.
