Overview

Pamukkale day trip from Istanbul by plane: walk barefoot on the white travertine terraces, explore ancient Hierapolis with a guide and fly back the same evening.

This one-day programme takes you from Istanbul to one of Türkiye's most striking natural wonders and back by evening. After a 04:30 hotel transfer to the airport and a morning flight to Denizli, your guide meets you at Cardak Airport and drives you to Pamukkale, where hot springs have built up the dazzling white travertine terraces over thousands of years.

Shoes are not allowed on the terraces, so you walk barefoot through the shallow pools before exploring ancient Hierapolis above them: the Roman theatre, the vast necropolis and the city streets. Swimming in Cleopatra's (Antique) Pool among sunken marble columns is optional. Lunch, guiding, transfers and entrance fees are included; there is no shade, so bring a hat, sunscreen and water. You fly back to Istanbul in the evening.
